A Letter For You from Dr. Stanley

This is Charles Stanley of In Touch Ministries calling the Impact Prayer Team.
We should all be grateful for the wonderful life of Jesus Christ. When we study how He lived, we can see the unconditional love He wants every believer to exhibit clearly demonstrated. Love should be what distinguishes us from the world—it is the evidence that our lives have been transformed by His grace. If love isn’t what motivates us, our prayers will lack power and value.
What does this sacrificial, unconditional love mean for us as we intercede for others? It means we must focus on God’s will for their lives, not what we want for them. We should pray they receive the Father’s very best—that they would be filled with spiritual wisdom and understanding and would walk in a manner worthy of the Lord. And we should also ask that they would bear fruit in every good work and be strengthened with God’s power.
When our prayers are motivated by sacrificial, godly love, we can persevere and pray for others without ceasing, trusting the Father for His power in their lives.
My prayer is that the Holy Spirit will help us understand the unconditional love the Father has given us—and how we can show that love to others.
Prayerfully yours,
