Ask Dr. Stanley: In Touch logo
Q: What’s the meaning behind the In Touch logo?

A: For as long as I’ve been in ministry, my mission has been to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. We designed the In Touch logo to represent the only method for doing so—namely, dependence on God. By looking at the symbol closely, you’ll notice it comprises three images.
First, and perhaps most apparent, is the flame. Throughout the Bible, fire is often used to describe God’s manifest presence, not only for its beneficial and refining nature, but also for its representation of power. At In Touch, we wouldn’t dare attempt the work of God unless He also provided power for achieving it—a need He’s always been faithful to satisfy.
The shape of the flames forms a second image within the logo: a pair of praying hands. This signifies the priority of intimacy with God. Both the power required for ministry and the resulting fruit are profoundly affected by our spending time with Him. The more we know the Father, the greater our impact will be in the lives of others. Because we recognize how essential this truth is, our staff members regularly gather to pray for the ministry, our partners, and each other as well.
Third is the dove, which is visible in the contour of the space behind the “thumbs.” This symbol of the Holy Spirit reminds us of our reliance on Him (Mark 1:10). His continual guidance supplies the resources and strategies needed to spread the gospel around the world. And even as messages are heard, only the Spirit of God can work salvation and transformation in the hearts of listeners.
So as you can see, In Touch Ministries must depend entirely on the Lord. Apart from Him, even our best efforts would be useless in advancing His kingdom. He is the source of every good and perfect gift, the greatest of which is the indwelling presence of Jesus Christ. Because He’s always near, we will never have to do anything in our own strength or wisdom. This is the promise we rest in, the joy we experience, and the energizing truth that inspired our logo.
