How to Have a Quiet Time

By Dr. Charles Stanley

Godly meditation means turning your heart heavenward and listening, focusing your attention solely on Christ. We must have a pure purpose for the practice--namely, to know God more intimately. We should have a plan for when we come to Him, including a portion of time spent meditating on His Word. With that in mind, here are seven factors to consider when you sit down to pray and meditate. Wonderful truths about getting to know God and learn how to spend time with Him, it's not easy because my mind is prone to wander, but am willing to follow these steps to develop intimacy with God.

Although I've saved for a number of years, I feel that I have wasted a lot of time that God has allowed me to live. I have asked God to forgive me and with what ever time I have left on this earth, I want to be in His service. Desiring to be truly submitted to His Will. I pray for holy boldness to witness whenever He sends the opportunity for me to do so. I don't want to be a hippocrite nor a stumbling block to someone who is seeking the Lord. Thank you so much for reminding us with encouraging words of staying close to our Lord and Savior by having an intimate relationship with Him. I admire Dr. Charles Stanley for His ongoing witness and ministry. May God continue to bless and keep him in His care.

    Your sister in Christ Jesus,
    jhanna

A practical, realistic example of how to listen, hear and grow in faith. As someone who teaches finances and faith to young people it reminds me to keep it simple. Reach souls where they are and bring them forward at a pace that GOD deems best. If I give them truth they will hear.
