God's Promises

Repentance

How do I return to God once I've sinned?

Is there a limit to God's forgiveness?

If I repent of my sins, do I still face the consequences they've caused?

Verses

"For thus the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, has said, 'In repentance and rest you will be saved, in quietness and trust is your strength.'"
Isaiah 30:15

"Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord."
Acts 3:19

"Do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance?"
Romans 2:4

"Therefore repent of this wickedness of yours, and pray the Lord that, if possible, the intention of your heart may be forgiven you."
Acts 8:22

"Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded."
James 4:8

"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
1 John 1:9

"As for me, I baptize you with water for repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, and I am not fit to remove His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire."
Matthew 3:11

"John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins."
Mark 1:4

"I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance."
Luke 5:32

"I tell you that in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance."
Luke 15:7

"Repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem."
Luke 24:47

"When they heard this, they quieted down and glorified God, saying, 'Well then, God has granted to the Gentiles also the repentance that leads to life.'"
Acts 11:18

"He is the one whom God exalted to His right hand as a Prince and a Savior, to grant repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins."
Acts 5:31

"I now rejoice, not that you were made sorrowful, but that you were made sorrowful to the point of repentance; for you were made sorrowful according to the will of God, so that you might not suffer loss in anything through us."
2 Corinthians 7:9

"For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but the sorrow of the world produces death."
2 Corinthians 7:10

"With gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth."
2 Timothy 2:25

"Therefore leaving the elementary teaching about the Christ, let us press on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God."
Hebrews 6:1

"For you know that even afterwards, when he desired to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for repentance, though he sought for it with tears."
Hebrews 12:17

"The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance."
2 Peter 3:9

"The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel."
Mark 1:15

"If the wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed and observes all My statutes and practices justice and righteousness, he shall surely live; he shall not die. All his transgressions which he has committed will not be remembered against him; because of his righteousness which he has practiced, he will live."
Ezekiel 18: 21-22

I have wondered for a long time if truely my sins would be forgivin. If GOD's word is true, when you repent, will you still have to answer on Judgement Day for your sins? I need to repent (DIE DAILY) like the Apostile Paul, because of my reassurance of my going to heaven! How saved do you need to be, if you have the rightousness of Christ in you?

We all need Jesus Christ and these comments just goes to show how deep Gods Love is for us that he was willing to sacrifice his only son that we might have a chance at life without the weight of sin by Repenting and trusting in God that with every temptation there is a way out and with every sin committed there is a forgiving God eager to right our wrongs and life any pain or guilt with faith in our hearts that God is who he say he is and can do what he said he can do and I just want to Thank God right now for forgiving me God said that he will continue the good work he started in you until the day of Jesus Christ so if he started a good work in you and you excepted him as your Salvation let God be the truth in your life and everything else a lie Bless Your Name God Amen
