International Messenger

In May 2007, God led Dr. Stanley and In Touch Ministries to reach out to members of the U.S. military who put themselves in harms way to defend our freedom. This was how the In Touch Messenger initiative was born. Now, In Touch has expanded outreach efforts with the Messenger to the whole world—producing translations in languages such as Spanish, French, Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, Russian, and Hindi, with more on the way. Find out more about how God is using the Messenger below.

“The man in this photo is Jose Chinchia, a driver for me in San Jose, Costa Rica. In February after hearing his tale of his unfaithfulness and failing marriage headed towards a divorce, I shared God’s redemptive story and His ability to resurrect a life and marriage. . . . He accepted Christ at that moment and I gave him the Messenger as a gift on behalf of Dr. Stanley. When I was there in June, he drove for me again and told me that each night since February, he, his wife and his children sit and listen to a message (his wife was already a believer). He is now in church . . . You all can understand when I say, ‘Only God!’ . . . Thank you, thank you for the Messenger. How do you reach the world for Christ? By reaching one person at a time!”

Reaching the Democratic Republic of the Congo

“The Second Congo War, beginning in 1998, devastated the country, involved seven foreign armies and is sometimes referred to as the ‘African World War.’ Despite the signing of peace accords in 2003, fighting continues in the east of the country. In eastern Congo, the prevalence of rape and other sexual violence is described as the worst in the world. The war is the world's deadliest conflict since World War II, killing 5.4 million people.” — Wikipedia, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_Congo_War

“Thank you for your support in order to spread the gospel through the distribution of the International In Touch Messenger in our country. As you would like to know we are well but busy. So far, we are about to finish the distribution process.

At this moment, sixty one Messengers have been distributed (on an individual basis and free of charge) as the follow:

  • 40 messengers for women who have been victims of rape and who are receiving medical
    treatment in Bukavu;
  • 10 messengers for new believers in Kabare village (Mont Sinai local church);
  • 11 messengers for new believers in Walungu territory(Carmel local church).

For each location we are spending four days for explaining how to operate the unit because this is the first time for most of them to receive this kind of Messenger.”

Troop Messenger Update

“I have always supported and believed in your Messenger program. I recently returned from a one-year deployment in Iraq and listening to you on my iPod and doing my Bible study daily gave me the strength for each day. . . . Thank you for blessing the soldiers with the Messenger program.”
