13 Characteristics of a Person Who Is Desperate for Love

Do You Feel Unloved?

The Lord doesn’t want anyone to feel starved for love. In fact, He’s made provisions for us to experience the joy and fulfillment of being loved by Him. Yet many people miss out on a satisfying relationship with Him because they are trying to fill the empty place in their lives with material possessions, money, sex, or prestige. Every human relationship will disappoint, but God’s love will never fail.

What does it mean for a person to be starved for love? Here are some characteristics of a person who feels unloved. They may:

  1. Become involved in immoral situations.

  2. Commit crimes.

  3. Not love themselves.

  4. Engage in excessive spending.

  5. Experience loneliness.

  6. Become critical of others’ relationships.

  7. Get angry.

  8. Become self-absorbed.

  9. Try to buy love.

  10. Be overly complimentary.

  11. Emphasize being in agreement.

  12. Do what others want.

  13. Make personal sacrifices to receive love.

Are any of these actions a part of your life? If so, don’t be discouraged. Instead, turn to your heavenly Father. He loves you so much that He provided for your salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ. Read His Word and spend time in His presence, for when you get to know Him, you’ll experience a love that far outweighs anyone else’s.
