Every child is a gift from God, but there is only one baby in all of history that embodies the qualities that Jesus Christ does. Dr. Stanley explains in this month’s From the Pastor’s Heart letter:
Jesus was not an ordinary baby, and He was never meant to be kept in the manger only to be brought out once a year as part of a quaint story. He is so much greater than most people think, and Christmas offers us a unique opportunity to let others know His true identity.
It’s easy to get caught up in the trappings of Christmas, but festive décor, holiday TV specials, and presents by the fireplace are meaningless diversions if we don’t put Christ first. Do you know just how special He is? Could you describe His unique qualities to someone who doesn’t know who He truly is? We should revere Christ throughout the year, but Christmastime gives us a special opportunity to tell others about His divine nature.
What are you doing this year to take advantage of this season? Be sure you are not only giving the Son of God the attention and praise He deserves, but also telling others about His amazing love and the gift of salvation that only He is qualified to give.
Dr. Stanley writes about six unique qualities of Jesus in this month’s From the Pastor’s Heart letter.
