I live next because God loved me first.
I love because my father showed
God to me by his eyes. Then, my longing life
becomes confession. To honour my father,
I honour God. To honour this life, I give
my life away to anyone I may help,
to my children who are God’s children, who live
because God is patient enough with me
to let me stay longer. In this way, I cradle
my children for the soft kiss goodnight.
When I pay attention to my children,
I am giving my father’s attention back.
When I whisper to my children that I love them,
I am giving their souls to the Lord.
